Yin Yoga with Tanya

As opposed to the Yang in Yin-Yang, Yin Yoga is a soulful pause for be-ing amidst the do-ings of daily life. Offering slow, relaxing stretches held for longer durations, each class will contain a limited number of poses gently entered and mindfully held for 3-5 minutes. The goal is to reset the fascia and the nervous system and allow our minds and spirits to slow down. The aim of Yin is to enter a gentle space of healing and connection with our bodies and ourselves, to disengage from reaction and instead learn to observe. Yin is an excellent practice to help manage stress or life's myriad changes and--BONUS--unlike more active yoga classes, Yin can be done on a full stomach!

Hatha Yoga with Tanya

Hatha encompasses all traditional yoga asana and can refer to a variety of tempos and paces. Tanya's Hatha courses will include a gentle and challenging* mixture of sequenced Vinyasa flows and deeply held asanas. *Beginners are ALWAYS WELCOMED!! All classes will be geared to the attendees present and aim to meet each ones' individual needs as much as possible. Unless specifically stated, classes are appropriate for beginners as well as more advanced practitioners. Modifications to meet each student where they are at will be offered--remember, it is not about the perfect asana or flow--it is about showing up and doing the practice, engaging from where you are with what you are.
